We were roomies for several years-- first in Manhattan and then later in Brooklyn. Next time you go to the fabric store you can say, "Hi Laura!!!"

I'm a Sucker For...

I really love the whole I'm-a-nomad/I-just-arrived-from-the-steppes-of-Mongolia look.  Pile on the colorful layers of knitted items, throw in some chunky jewelry, and tie your hair in multi-fishtail braids, and you'll find me completely on board.  I'm still figuring out how to rock this look (so you won't be seeing it on me anytime soon), but I am completely smitten.  


And, yes, I *love* the red hair, too.

I'm going to be doing some image dumping-- I shot a bunch of pictures while in Istanbul, Turkey this past summer, and as I find my work, I'll most likely post them here.  This is for the Triko Misirli catalogue, which I believe is the oldest clothing line in Istanbul.  You can view their 2009/2010 Autumn-Winter catalogue here.

I'm Back...

My devoted readers! I haven't forgotten you, I promise!

I am now back in the US, and wow, was Turkey an adventure. I would have loved to taken you along for the ride on this blog, but that little Mac snafu sort of put on damper on things. I do hope to upload and share some of my photos of that time, but in the meanwhile, it's time for me to give my old blog some lovin'.

To that end, I am happy to say that I have a brand new hard drive powering my Macbook, so I am back in business! I think it might take me a little time to get used to the discipline of crafting blog posts, but give me a few days, and I should be back in form.

I'm working on scanning some of my photos from a catalog I shot in Istanbul. Here's a little preview:
