I've been working hard on getting these items into the shop since it has been awhile since I've done an update. Some of these items are already in the shop, and the rest should be up in the next day or two.

New Shoes at Birdcage Vintage

Special thanks to clearphotostamps for making my beautiful vintage frames!
(She did them as a special request for me!)

I just did a shop update and all of these shoes are now in the shop! I'm not sure how other sellers do regular shop updates, because just listing these five pairs of shoes (what with the weighing and measuring and describing, etc.) took me all evening!

I'm working on doing another photo shoot so that we can post some more dresses. I'm trying to think of something special for the shoot. Anyway, thanks for stopping by!

I've been planning on doing a shop update post, but I'm so slow about getting these things posted, that by the time I get ready to do the post, the items have sold. Birdcage Vintage Shop Update

You might have noticed that I was MIA this past weekend. On Thursday, I made a quick dash to NYC for a casting with Target, and then on Friday, Erin (my sis) and I headed down to Laurel, Delaware to pass the weekend. We hit up thrift stores along the way (it's about two hours south of where my parents live), and did some more thrifting on Saturday.

On Saturday afternoon we shot about two hundred pictures or so of me in dresses and shirts that we had thrifted. The end goal is to put them in our new Etsy store that we are so excited about. It's so fun to have a hobby, and even better since I get to work with my sis who also happens to be my best friend.

By Sunday evening, when I had returned home, we had already made three sales! What beginner's luck! I have some more posting to do to the store, so keep checking back.

In other (related) news, Erin has devoted herself to all things digital scrapbooking. She's lucky enough to have the programs Fireworks and Photoshop Elements, which means she can play around with images and do some pretty cool things. She's already made our shop look a lot cooler by creating a new header and avatar. Check it out:



I'm just jealous because I don't have the software to do such things. (Does anyone else find it strange that Macs come loaded with movie editing software and music editing software, but not a true photo editing software? I mean, am I wrong in assuming that the photo editing software would be the most useful of the three?) Oh, and my Flickr Pro account expired today. Boo hoo.

New Vintage Store on Etsy

I did it! I opened a store on Etsy. For those of you who don't know, Etsy is a website that allows the general public to buy and sell handmade items and vintage clothing. One of my passions is shopping at thrift stores, and I love following the blogs of Liebemarlene, Clever Nettle and Strawberry Koi (who has the cutest blog ever), three girls who make a living (or at least some pocket change) thrifting and selling all things vintage. I love seeing their posts of their latest finds, and I thought to myself, why can't I do that to?

So far I only have two items in my store, but there will be more coming soon, I promise. I'm going to start out small, but if I can sell these items, I might just see how far I can go with this.
